Todas las subastas / Arte Antiguo / Scythian Bronze Arrow head - 3 cm (No reserve price)

Bronze arrowhead with three edges dating to the Scythian culture, dating to around 200 BC. It is mounted in silver metal and linked to a 925 sterling silver chain. These with holes were designed to be attached to the wooden shaft and to not loosen when drawing the bow or in flight. Additionally, there were variants where these hollows produced a sharp whistle as they cut through the air, called whistling arrows. Their function was to intimidate the enemy on the battlefield, as well as to coordinate attacks, give orders, or guide the direction of mounted attacks amid confusion. Shipped with a legal declarations sheet. Customs costs outside the EU will be borne by the auction winner.
