Sculpture, Grande Angelo Musicante - 85 cm - Wood, Brass

Musician Angel with Brass Trumpet – Solid Wood Carved by Hand – Late 19th / Early 20th Century Fascinating and scenographic sculpture depicting a singing angel in flight, entirely crafted in solid wood carved by hand, dateable to the late 19th and early 20th century. A decorative work with great personality, characterized by a dynamic and original composition, capable of uniting the elegance of traditional wooden sculpture with extraordinary expressive force. The angel is represented horizontally, in the act of gliding in flight while bringing a long brass trumpet to the lips, an element that enriches the composition thanks to the suggestive chromatic contrast between the brightness of the metal and the warm dark patina of the antique wood. Particularly successful is the modeling of the face, with soft and harmonious features, full cheeks, expressive eyes and finely worked hair. The large wings, sculpted with attention to the arrangement of the feathers, give movement and lightness to the entire figure. The body, elegantly elongated, features a drapery gathered around the waist, while the slightly raised legs accentuate the sense of movement, making the sculpture extremely evocative from any angle. The craftsmanship, proportions and the expressiveness of the face testify to notable sculptural sensitivity. The splendid antique patina, with its brown tones and traces of the passage of time, gives the work authentic charm and a strong aesthetic identity. The generously generous dimensions, with an overall span of as much as 85 cm, make this angel a decorative element with great stage presence, ideal for enthusiasts of antique sculpture, sacred art and art objects with an unusual character. Dimensions: 85 × 23 × 30 cm. Epoch: Late 19th – early 20th century. Materials: Hand-carved solid wood, brass trumpet. Condition: The work presents conditions consistent with its age, with evident signs of time, natural wood cracks, superficial wear and some material loss, particularly visible at the arms, hands and hairstyle. Such characteristics are documented in the photographs and contribute to the antique charm of the artifact. Please study the images carefully for a complete assessment of the conservation state. Home decor tips A sculpture of this type represents a choice of great refinement for refined and personal environments. Extraordinary as a suspended decorative element, if a suitable support system is provided, it can become the protagonist of a monumental entrance, a living room with high ceilings or an environment characterized by period furnishings. Particularly captivating also in contemporary contexts, where the contrast between the ancient carved wood sculpture and minimalist furniture allows its silhouette and extraordinary expressiveness to be enhanced. Also ideal for historic houses, sacred art collections, professional studios, boutique hotels and eclectically styled environments, where it can become a genuine focal point.
