Sculpture, Gazelle beeld - 24 cm - two-tone layered marble pedestal, Zamac

Splendid and authentic French Art Deco sculpture from the flowering period of animalier art (the 1920s–1930s). This elegant artwork shows a dynamic and stylized composition of two gazelles (or antelopes): one gracefully standing with its head held proudly high, and a second depicted as serene and resting. The sculpture perfectly reflects the typical Art Deco aesthetics with its clean, streamlined forms and focus on natural grace. Features and materials: • Figures: Made of high-quality patinated metal (zamak/régule) with a beautiful, deep dark-brown patina that has developed naturally over the years. • Pedestal: The asymmetrical composition rests on a heavy, multi-layer marble base with refined veining, providing a luxurious appearance and excellent stability. • Style: French École Animalière, Art Deco. • Origin: France. Condition: The object is in good, original condition with age-related and use wear inherent to its nearly century-old age. The patina has a wonderfully well-worn character and the marble is structurally fully intact (see the detail photos for an accurate personal impression). A timeless and highly decorative collector's item that immediately adds a classic 1920s/30s atmosphere to any modern or classic interior.
