Saundy 2002 – Red & Cream Vintage Suitcase Record Player...

Saundy 2002 – Red & Cream Vintage Suitcase Record Player – Idler Drive – 33/45 RPM Bold red, warm cream and the charm of portable vinyl: this Saundy 2002 combines an eye-catching suitcase design with a built-in speaker and the convenience of mains or battery operation. The textured red lid and lower shell contrast beautifully with the cream playing deck and integrated carrying handle. Inside, the black platter with its silver centre ring, slim silver-coloured tonearm and two silver-coloured control knobs create a clean, geometric composition. The horizontal speaker grille forms part of the deck itself, while the black control panel carries the distinctive Saundy logo and model designation. A characterful vintage audio piece, equally appealing open for playback or closed as a compact red carrying case. MECHANISM AND PRACTICAL DETAILS The platter is driven by an idler-wheel mechanism, not a belt. A particularly clever feature is the built-in, retractable 45 RPM adapter. For singles with a large centre hole, the adapter is lifted and rotated to hold it in its raised position. For records with a standard small centre hole, including 12-inch LPs, simply rotate it back and lower it into its recess. The adapter remains attached, avoiding the risk of losing a separate accessory. The upper rotary knob adjusts the tone and is identified by a musical clef symbol. The lower knob controls the volume. A separate selector provides 33 and 45 RPM settings and a stop position. TESTED FUNCTIONS • Playback tested at both 33⅓ and 45 RPM. • Volume control tested and working. • Tone control tested and working. • Operation tested using the integrated mains cable. • Operation also tested using batteries. • New fuse fitted. IMPORTANT: When using batteries, strictly follow the polarity markings in the battery compartment. Incorrect polarity can damage the equipment. Batteries are not included. FUNCTIONAL TEST VIDEO Please watch the demonstration before bidding: https://youtu.be/UtLlv2_pDUw An iPhone was used for an indicative platter-speed check. This is a practical check, not a calibrated laboratory measurement or a guarantee of exact speed stability.
