Sarreguemines - Table service - Obernai - Earthenware - Vintage plates, 20 pcs.

Superb Sarreguemines earthenware service, Obernai model, with the traditional Alsatian decor associated with the artistic universe of Henri Loux. On an elegant ivory cream background, the pieces feature picturesque scenes of Alsatian life: half-timbered houses, traditional villages, and people in regional costumes. Red and blue floral garlands and the scalloped edges add a great deal of charm to this iconic set. Lot composition: 20 pieces 8 large flat plates 25.5 cm 8 entrée or dessert plates 20 cm 4 serving platters: 34 cm, 31 cm and 2× 42 cm The back bears the mark “Sarreguemines France – Obernai”, with the note “Decor guaranteed imperishable and dishwasher resistant”. It is relatively rare today to find such a complete set, as pieces of this model are often offered separately. This is a wonderful opportunity to acquire a coordinated service for a harmonious table setting or to enrich a French earthenware collection. Condition: very good vintage condition. No cracks or chips observed. The glaze preserves a nice shine and the colors remain bright. One of the plates has two tiny surface dots, which could correspond to minor irregularities or occasional glaze losses. Their exact origin is not known. These marks are discreet and are noted for transparency. Careful packaging planned for transport.
