Şarköy - Carpet - 150 cm - 101 cm - Bridal Kilim

Authentic bridal kilim, made for personal use. In the middle, woven with white wool, are the two names: Çelik and Emine. Celik is a man's name, meaning iron-strong. Emine means faithful, loyal. With a Tree of Life in the middle. Natural plant-based dyes used. Probably Turkish-speaking people from the Rhodope Mountains. Often these people do not even speak Bulgarian. This kilim, as an ethnographic folk-art object, is best displayed on the wall. That was also often its original use.
