Todas las subastas / Arte contemporáneo / Santicri - Essence, Il David
Santicri has participated in numerous internationally renowned art exhibitions. Among the most significant, in 2022 he exhibited his works at the prestigious Palazzo Grillo in Genoa, and in 2023 he was present at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, thus expanding his visibility in both national and international contexts. Santicri was recognized among the Best-Selling Artists of 2024 by Artmayeur, one of the most renowned platforms in the art world. In the same year, he was also listed among the top three most-searched names on the Catawiki platform, another sign of the growing appreciation for his work. These accolades highlight Santicri’s extraordinary talent and the increasing visibility of his work in the contemporary art scene. Santicri Mixed media Dimensions: 90x50x15 cm The work is accompanied by a hand-signed Certificate of authenticity Edition limited 1/8 This contemporary canvas arises from the encounter between one of the most famous symbols in art history and a contemporary visual language. Michelangelo’s David head is reinterpreted and dragged out of its sculptural dimension, becoming a presence suspended between matter, image, and color. The faucet becomes a true temporal gateway: from it the sculpture seems to be sucked in and, at the same time, returned in a new form. The matter and color that emanate from it represent the transition from classical art to a contemporary vision, in which a past icon is fragmented, transformed, and reassembled again. The work thus reflects on the relationship between memory and transformation, showing how a masterpiece can continue to live even when removed from its original context and reinterpreted through a completely different language. The fusion between the monumental David and the everyday, contemporary element of the faucet creates a deliberately disorienting contrast: art history is not simply cited, but seems to be literally dragged into the present and transformed into new creative material. Shipping insured. The package is carefully packed, The drop is shipped separately from the faucet, to be screwed onto the faucet (by hand). This ensures safer shipping. The canvas work 350 g is mounted on a wooden frame, the faucet is iron, the drop is resin with a ferro core. SHIPPING INSURED! The package is carefully packed, The artist established himself in 2024 as one of the most sought-after names on Catawiki, immediately ranking after icons such as Kaws and Banksy. His art stands out in an exclusive context that includes other categories of excellence, such as Rolex, Lego, Louis Vuitton, Porsche, Eames, Macallan, Tintin, Cartier, and Pokémon. A talent recognized not only for creative value but also as one of the most promising investments of the year. Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist pursued a path that, through studies in Geometer and Architecture, led him to collaborate with a resin sculpture artisan. There arose the increasingly strong need to find himself and unleash his creativity. His works are sold worldwide, collaborating with galleries in Italy and Europe. His art is widely appreciated and cannot be missing among collectors of street art and pop art paintings and contemporary art sculptures. "It’s never easy to classify one’s own art; I try to convey what my eyes see, my way of perceiving what surrounds me, and I rework it with a design that suits modern times: impactful and memorable."
