The handling is quick and confident, the signature a flourish in red. Salvatore Rodriguez, born in Naples in 1957, is an Italian figurative painter whose work is largely devoted to the female figure — ‘the tenderness and sensuality of women’, in his own words — painted in oil on canvas, board and cardboard in a manner that looks back to the Macchiaioli and the Impressionists. Signed ‘Rodriguez’ at the lower right.
