Salvador Dalí & J. Peter Moore - Les dîners de Gala - 1973

Superb illustrated edition of this extravagant culinary book that embodies the surreal universe of the artist by transposing his pictorial imagination into the table setting - Designed as a gastronomic manifest, the work gathers twelve thematic chapters inspired by pomp and excess, where recipes and illustrations mingle in a baroque celebration of sensuality and pleasure - Dali distorts the tradition of cookbooks by introducing bold visual compositions, stylized photographs, and texts imbued with humor and provocation, turning each dish into a work of art - This book, rare and sought-after, testifies to Dalinian obsession with excess, opulence, and the fusion of the arts, and remains an essential reference for lovers of surrealism and bibliophilia - Salvador Dalí & J. Peter Moore - The Gala Dinners - 1973 - Draeger - 321 pp Very good condition of the binding, the work in its full hardback with illustrated dust jacket on a gold background, in a publisher’s cardboard slipcase, light signs of use, dust jacket slightly scuffed, smooth spine adorned, first cover page titled in black, superb color illustrations covering the plates - Very good interior condition, title in white, the work enriched with numerous photographs including culinary color plates with text on double pages, including the translation by J. Peter Moore, layout by René Toutain with the collaboration of Max Gérard, all the recipes in this cookbook have been meticulously developed by a “chef” who wishes to keep anonymity as secret as possible, endpapers nicely illustrated in good condition, clean interior, no foxing - Delivery service guaranteed within a few days –
