Sacred Cosmological Diagram – Nepal / Himalayan Region

Antique Ritual Yantra Astrological-Protective Manuscript on Mulberry Paper – Sacred Cosmological Diagram – Nepal / Himalayan Region, dated Samvat 1990 (c. 1933-34 AD) Fascinating and authentic Himalayan ritual/astrological manuscript, entirely handmade on high-thickness artisanal mulberry paper (lokta). At the center of the composition stands a complex sacred geometric diagram of the Yantra type, arranged as a dense chessboard-like grid filled with characters, numbers, and astrological-protective formulas in black ink. On the sides of the central diagram are detailed arc-shaped figurative and symbolic drawings (archer/protective figures) traced in natural red ink. On the edge there is the original inscription in Devanagari characters: सं.व.श.१९९० (Samvat / Vikrama Samvat 1990 ≈ 1933-34 AD). The piece is not a modern reproduction, but an antique object with a rich documented collecting history evidenced by the physical marks on the support: • Epoca-conservation restoration with gum-paper kraft tape bearing the handwritten inscription “Mwanxi” • Inventory initials in blue pen (“by”) and red mark (“92”) • Mounted on original pink cardboard with E93 catalog tag Good condition for its age and ritual use. Shows period creases, slight foxing, irregular margins, and small tears consistent with use. Ancient restoration with kraft tape. No major loss. Presence of an old conservative restoration on the back with a strip of gum-paper, which stabilizes the central fold without altering legibility of the front. The red and black ink is well absorbed by the fibers and stable. Please view the photographic gallery carefully for close-up details on preservation and inventory labels. Ideal for collectors of Himalayan art, tantric manuscripts, esoteric objects, and ritual items.
