A0000005362 We are putting up for auction one of the most absolute, aristocratic, and coveted icons of French luxury haute manufacture: the S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 Small Model pocket lighter, handmade in France throughout the 1970s. This superb collector’s piece stands out in the Maison’s historical catalog for its masterful execution in noble materials: a robust chassis with a sumptuous silver finish that completely coats a sophisticated geometric pattern, topped with an elegant vintage personalized cartridge bearing the initial "F". A high-fashion executive design that exudes opulence, presentation, and classic minimalism. The design of this lighter embodies the firm’s quintessential stately robustness: its compact dimensions measure precisely 4.7 cm in height, 3.5 cm in width, and 1.4 cm in thickness, offering a presence, solidity, and a weight in hand truly superb. The front, back, and side panels boast the legendary Pointe de Diamant (Diamond Tip) motif, which creates magnificent three-dimensional metallic sparkles that catch the light cleanly from any angle. At the base you can see all the official assay marks of the Maison with absolute clarity and depth, accompanied by its individual serial number hand-engraved by stamp A0BN91, whose slightly irregular alignment is the unequivocal guarantee of its period authenticity. Mechanically, the lighter hails from the brand’s golden age of engineering, incorporating the classic system with the lateral ignition roller and the gas charge gate integrated into the base. The piece is in excellent cosmetic condition and fully functional, offering an instant spark to the roller and a living, clean, powerful, and perfectly steady flame, as certified in the images. Condition: Collection Quality / Excellent Vintage The aesthetic and mechanical condition of this specimen is magnificent, having been meticulously protected in a display case: Pointe de Diamant Pattern: In superb condition, preserving the sharpness and raised relief of its geometric engraving intact, with no flat wear from friction nor dents that would compromise the continuity of its sumptuous visual texture. Plated Silver Chassis: The silver plating maintains a brilliant sheen and an excellent vintage patina, showing only imperceptible and logical signs of the years on the profiles. The top cap opens firmly and retains perfect tension in the hinge. Mechanical: The grooved roller turns with thousandth-smooth precision and the gas valve is completely hermetic, leak-free, guaranteeing steady and clean combustion. Curious Fact for the Collector For appraisers and Catawiki experts, the S.T. Dupont Ligne 1 Small lighters with the Pointe de Diamant pattern fully plated in silver represent a premier patrimonial investment because technicians regard it as the most robust and durable structure ever manufactured by the brand. The Small format greatly enhances the piece’s ergonomics, while the cartridge engraved with the initial "F" adds that touch of historical exclusivity highly valued in European collecting. Being 100% operational and with a razor-sharp flame ensures intense competition and a truly wild bidding ratio on the international stage. Wishing you all the best of luck in your bids and an excellent auction to all Catawiki participants!
