A silver cabaret (tray on legs) made by the silversmith Sebastiaan Gijsbertus de Mare from Utrecht. He was active from 1777 to 1809. The cabaret, featuring an openworked edge, is stamped with several marks: the city mark of Utrecht, Holland’s lion, the master mark of a stag, and the year letter N for 1796. The cabaret is also bearing a touch mark. It is heavy and solidly made work. There is a small crack in the edge; otherwise the cabaret is in good condition. Not much of his work is offered. Weight: 827 grams. Dimensions: 20.5 x 25.5 x 4 cm.
