RUSSIA. Saint Petersburg. 15 Kopeks. 1908. Nicholas II (1894–1917). - Value: 15 Kopeks. - Year: 1908. - Reign: Nicholas II (1894–1917). - Inscriptions: Obverse: Б.М. НИКОЛАЙ II ИМПЕРАТОРЪ И САМОДЕРЖЕЦЪ ВСЕРОСС. Reverse: 15 КОПѢЕКЪ 1908 Б.С. - Grade: MS64 (NGC) Silver 15 Kopek coin minted in Saint Petersburg during the reign of Nicholas II. The obverse features the crowned imperial double-headed eagle, holding a scepter and globus cruciger, with the shield of Saint George in the center and the various territorial shields distributed across the wings; at the bottom appear the initials Э.Б., corresponding to the mint master Elikum Babayants. The reverse shows the denomination 15 Kopeks beneath the imperial crown, flanked by botanical branches and accompanied by the date 1908 and the mint mark С.П.Б. The piece presents a sharp strike, with excellent definition of the plumage, the crowns, the small shields and the vegetal elements, keeping clean fields and abundant original luster. Notable is an attractive natural patina with golden and slightly warm tones, especially visible on the obverse, contrasting with the silver background. Its MS64 grade certified by NGC reflects outstanding preservation, with only minor surface marks compatible with the grade and a remarkable overall freshness, representative of the empire’s silver fractional coin in the late years of the Romanov dynasty.
