Royal Doulton porcelain figurine of a Tang Horse, modeled in a stylized ancient Chinese aesthetic with a lowered head and formal trappings. The piece is finished in a high-gloss flambe glaze featuring deep red tones with dark blue and black veined mottling. The underside of the integral rectangular base bears a printed mark in a circle reading ROYAL DOULTON ENGLAND below a lion and crown device, with an adjacent printed rectangle containing a horse graphic and the text TANG HORSE YEAR OF THE HORSE 2002. Additional printed marks include BURSLEM ARTWARES TANG HORSE BA 25 LIMITED EDITION OF 250 THIS IS NO 67 and ROYAL DOULTON ARCHIVES.
