Brutalist op-art porcelain vase, model number 2987, designed by the renowned German designer Martin Freyer for the prestigious Rosenthal Studio-Linie. The design dates from the 1960s to the 1970s and is characterized by the matte, unglazed white bisque porcelain (bisque porcelain) with a distinctive rough relief texture and geometric organic notches. Martin Freyer was an architect, graphic designer (he designed the Volkswagen VW logo in 1938), set designer, textile and wallpaper designer, photographer, painter, lecturer, and freelance designer of glass and porcelain for Rosenthal from 1964 to 1974. Many designs from Rosenthal's 'studio-linie' or 'Studio Line', into which this vase also falls, were intended to let the surface of objects carry the decoration, making color completely unnecessary. Marked on the bottom. In excellent condition.
