Remarkable postmodern collectible vase in glossy porcelain from the prestigious German manufacturer Rosenthal for its famous Studio-Line range. This highly architectural piece is the fruit of an emblematic collaboration at the end of the 20th century. The sculptural and flared form — baptised "Concave" — was designed by the great Dutch master ceramicist Jan van der Vaart (1931-2000). The dense and expressive graphic decoration named "Metropolis" is a creation of the French artist Yves Galgon. The polychrome serigraphic composition integrates rich swathes of fine gold vibrantly alongside glossy black, cobalt blue, turquoise and saffron yellow. Stamped at the base with the official green Rosenthal studio-linie GERMANY logo, accompanied by the printed signature of Jan van der Vaart. Yves Galgon's signature is affixed in gold lettering on the side of the decoration.
