Rosenthal - Bjorn Wiinblad - Vase - Rosenthal 100th...

Offered is an elegant Rosenthal studio-line porcelain vase from the 'Romance' series, designed by the internationally renowned Danish artist and designer Bjørn Wiinblad (1918–2006). The vase features a swollen body with an unusually long, slender neck. The entire surface is covered with the finely worked relief characteristic of the 'Romance' series, consisting of oval ornaments, lines, and small dots. The white, glossy glazed porcelain and the three-dimensional relief structure give the vase a particularly elegant effect despite its simple color palette. A special feature of this exemplar is the base mark for Rosenthal's 100th anniversary. It bears the designation: "100 Years of Rosenthal – produced in the anniversary year VIII 1979 – VII 1980" This allows this specimen to be clearly dated to 1979/1980. A 26 cm high narrow-neck vase 'Romance' with exactly this anniversary sign is also documented in the auction archive.
