Romantic Ring with an Antique “Old European Cut” Diamond in Rose Gold

This ring, crafted from high-karat rose gold, was made in our workshop. An antique diamond is set in the center. It is cut in the “Old European Cut,” a round antique cut that was the standard diamond cut c. 1900. The stone is white (H) and has only very minor inclusions (VS). Its brilliance is very good. The diamond is set with a full-round bezel and nestled in a golden setting, the underside of which has also been intricately detailed, ensuring the ring is a beautiful sight from every angle. The diamond is held in place by a three-part ring band that forms small lily shapes to the left and right of the stone. The ring’s design draws inspiration from the delicate ring styles of the 18th century. In particular, the type of setting and the delicate, fanning-out ring band are typical of Rococo jewellery. Our goldsmith has now reinterpreted these details in rose gold. The ring thus appears both romantic and modern. At the same time, it is designed so that it can be worn comfortably every day. We crafted the ring entirely in Germany using recycled materials. The gold and the diamond come from older pieces of jewellery. The setting was cast for us in Pforzheim, and the diamond was set in Idar-Oberstein.
