Romani - Bicycle - Before 2000

Romani Vintage - Vintage Steel Road Racing Bicycle with Star-Profile Tubes in Pink Metallic Pastel GENERAL DESCRIPTION Up for auction is a prestigious and elegant vintage road racing bicycle by Romani, a refined example of Italian cycling craftsmanship. The steel frame stands out for its star-profile tubing and is finished with a refined metallic pastel pink paint, paired with chrome-plated front fork and rear stays. It is adorned with the original Romani logos and inscriptions applied to the tubes, and the handlebar clamp is personalized with the name "Roberta". TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS AND VISIBLE COMPONENTS The bicycle is equipped with high-level vintage components from the era. The drivetrain includes a Campagnolo rear derailleur from the period, a front derailleur by Galli, down-tube shifters, and a refined vintage aluminum crankset by Galli with a double cutout chainring. Braking is provided by Universal Super Corsa calipers with lateral pull and dedicated levers. The cockpit features a personalized aluminum handlebar clamp and a racing-style bend wrapped with a distinctive multicolor fabric bar tape in good condition. The saddle is a vintage dark leather model branded Concor Supercorsa, mounted on an elegant three-groove aluminum seatpost. Completing the lot are a color-matched bottle cage and classic aluminum-rim wheels suitable for clinchers or tubular tires. CONDITION AND RECOMMENDED WORKS As a vintage bicycle that has been stationary for some time, the overall frame is solid, charming, and well-preserved, but being a historical piece it might benefit from a quick general service, lubrication, and a tightening/bolting check before road use. Aesthetically it shows a beautiful antique patina with minimal and normal surface marks due to age and use, including a few small imperfections in the frame paint. The leather saddle retains its lived-in character with light surface signs typical of its age. Overall, a striking example ready to enrich any collection. SHIPPING AND PACKAGING NOTES The lot will be packed with extreme care and shipped via trackable insured courier. Note that, to ensure safer shipping and to reduce package volume, some parts of the bicycle may be removed, such as pedals, saddle, wheels, and possibly the handlebars.
