Crafted entirely in 18K white gold, it combines the reassuring weight and discreet appearance of the metal with one immediately recognizable flourish: a vivid blue Cerachrom bezel surrounding a deep black dial. This contrast gives the watch much of its personality. The blue bezel recalls the long association between white-gold Submariners and the colour blue, yet the black dial creates a sharper and more restrained composition than the preceding generation. Large Chromalight-filled hour markers, broad Mercedes hands and the Cyclops date display preserve the unmistakable visual language of the Submariner, while the polished white-gold surrounds catch the light against the otherwise utilitarian dial. The 41 mm Oyster case marked a subtle evolution in the proportions of the collection. Broader yet carefully balanced, it is complemented by the substantial 18K white gold Oyster bracelet, whose brushed outer surfaces allow the precious metal to remain remarkably understated. It is this contradiction that makes the reference particularly appealing: visually it retains the purposeful character of a professional Rolex diver, while its weight on the wrist immediately reveals a far more luxurious construction. Inside is Rolex’s calibre 3235, the generation of automatic movement introduced across several of the manufacture’s modern date models. Offering approximately 70 hours of power reserve, it combines Rolex’s Chronergy escapement with the practical robustness expected of a contemporary Submariner. The reference 126619LB is consequently a compelling exercise in discreet luxury. Its blue bezel supplies the colour traditionally associated with Rolex’s white-gold Submariners, while the black dial and full white-gold construction give the watch a more subtle presence than its material might suggest.
