Robert Llimós (1943) - Dialogue

Robert Llimós is a renowned Spanish painter and sculptor born in Barcelona on October 19, 1943. Awarded the Generality of Catalonia Prize for Plastic Arts in 1994, his career took a radical turn from 2009 onward after living a purported experience of sighting and interacting with extraterrestrial beings on a beach in Brazil. Since then, he has focused practically the entirety of his artistic production on portraying these beings with long necks and large eyes. Aspectos clave sobre su trayectoria • Beginnings and Evolution: Trained at the Escola Massana and at the Escola Superior de Belles Arts Sant Jordi, he moved through New Figuration, conceptual art (eventually participating in the prestigious Documenta 5 in Kassel) and Expressionism. • Notable urban works: He is the creator of the famous Miraestels (Looking at the Stars), floating sculptures of white silhouettes located in the waters of the Port of Barcelona. • The UFO turn: After his experience in Brazil, he founded the Fundació Llimós and has exhibited his paintings and sculptures with alien themes at ufology congresses and international galleries.
