ROB SOLLIS (born 1966); 'Pocket Ampule', a small solid plagiarized raku vessel covered in metallic silver glaze with incised alien text, height 12cm. In 2011 Sollis was commissioned to make large scale ceramic ampules for Ridley Scott's film 'Prometheus'. Amongst the magnitude and scale of the production itself Sollis established a pottery at Pinewood Studios and set about making three sizes of ampule over a four month period. Sollis made over eighty unique pieces but sadly many were lost or destroyed during filming. This small ampule is inspired by those made for the film. This lot may qualify for Artist Resale Rights.
