Wonderful and original Reliquary of Saint John Paul II Pope This is a very rare Ex Indumentis relic of Pope John Paul II placed inside a holy card (image) with a reproduced photograph of the Pope and an intercession prayer in English on the back. Dimensions: Photo with Relic: 130 x 80 millimetres Pope John Paul II, born Karol Wojtyła (1920-2005), was the 264th pope of the Catholic Church from 1978 to 2005. The first Polish pope and the first non-Italian pope in 455 years, his 27-year pontificate marked history, promoting interreligious dialogue, traveling the world, and contributing to the fall of communism in Europe. Elected on 16 October 1978 at age 58, he introduced a new style of papacy—charismatic and media-friendly—known as the “traveler pope.” On 13 May 1981 he survived a serious attack in St. Peter's Square, publicly forgiving his attacker Mehmet Ali Ağca. He was the first pope to visit a synagogue and a mosque, promoting reconciliation with other religions, and: Soon after his death on 2 April 2005, he was beatified in 2011 and canonized by Pope Francis on 27 April 2014. The accompanying photos, to which reference is made, clearly show the utmost care taken to create this precious papal relic of the unforgettable Saint John Paul II.
