Recording King - RKT-05 – Dirty 30s Tenor Banjo - 4...

Recording King RKT-05 – Dirty 30s Tenor Banjo The Recording King RKT-05 is a characteristic 4-string tenor banjo from the Dirty 30s series, designed for players seeking the authentic look and sound of a classic tenor banjo. The open-back construction, natural finish and traditional details give the instrument a vintage look, while the compact tenor scale provides a direct and comfortable playing experience. General description The RKT-05 features an open-back banjo construction with a multi-ply wooden rim. The maple neck is equipped with a rosewood fingerboard with 19 frets and simple position markers. The combination of the wooden rim and the open design yields a characteristic, warm and direct banjo tone. The banjo is equipped with a maple/ebony bridge and a traditional Presto-style tailpiece. The nickel-plated hardware forms a nice contrast with the natural finish and gives the instrument a classic appearance. The adjustable coordinator rod also allows precise control over the construction and setup. With its four strings and 23-inch tenor scale, the RKT-05 clearly differs from a traditional 5-string bluegrass banjo. The tenor banjo is particularly well suited for traditional jazz, Dixieland, folk, Irish music and other styles where a compact, bright and rhythmic banjo sound is desired. Playing experience The 23-inch scale makes the RKT-05 comfortably playable and results in a relatively compact neck. The four-string configuration offers a different playing experience than a 5-string banjo and makes the instrument particularly interesting for players specifically seeking a tenor banjo. The open-back construction gives the RKT-05 a more open and natural response. The tone is bright and direct, with enough character for both melodic playing and rhythmic accompaniment. This makes it a versatile instrument for both beginner tenor banjo players and musicians who want to add an authentic 4-string banjo to their collection.
