RARE LUCENT CELESTINA with YELLOW SULFUR

From our selection of collectible minerals, we present a rare group of Celestine crystals with Sulfur from the Floristella Mine, Sicily. Moreover, it is characterized by white and translucent Celestine crystals, with an elongated and lustrous habit, in splendid color contrast with the bright yellow sulfur concretions that coat the base, elements that enhance its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight the natural structure and visual impact. Celestine derives its name from the sky-blue color it sometimes assumes, linked to traces of impurities in the crystal lattice, although it can appear colorless or white as in this specimen; chemically it is a strontium sulfate (SrSO4). The Floristella mine, in the province of Enna, has for over a century been one of the main sulfur extraction sites in Sicily, a deposit formed in the Miocene by evaporation of ancient marine basins: in these sulfur-bearing deposits Celestine is often found in direct association with native sulfur. This is an ideal specimen for mineralogical collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also within the scope of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with rare exceptions always noted in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
