RARE GREEN TWINNED FLUORITE

From our selection of collectible minerals, we present a splendid group of Fluorite crystals from the Rogerley Mine in England. Moreover, it is characterized by cube-shaped crystals of deep green color, some doubly terminated, densely aggregated on matrix and endowed with a pronounced blue fluorescence under ultraviolet light, which enhances its aesthetic value and mineralogical significance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for its overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact. The Rogerley Mine, in Weardale (County Durham), is one of the few mines in the world operated exclusively for the production of collectible samples, not for industrial purposes. Its green fluorite owes the bluish-violet fluorescence to traces of yttrium and samarium substituting for calcium in the crystal lattice, a phenomenon that has made this locality famous among collectors worldwide. The green color of the mineral is instead linked to color centers induced by natural irradiation during its geological formation. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also within the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, in accordance with the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, with very rare exceptions always noted in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in hue may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
