RAPHAËL MONNET - RAINY DAY - XXL

Unique and original work painted by hand by Raphaël Monnet Raphaël Monnet develops contemporary abstract painting in which color becomes material, rhythm and movement. He approaches the canvas as an experiment space. The painting is projected, accumulated and confronted with opposing colors. The impacts cross each other, some areas densify while others allow the ground to breathe. His process does not rely on a pre-prepared image, but on a progressive construction. Each intervention leads to the next until an balance appears between apparent disorder and pictorial organization. Based in the Léo Varek workshop in France, Raphaël Monnet continues his research around projection and color superposition. His works have an immediate presence at a distance and reveal, when you approach, a multitude of details, nuances and unexpected encounters between pigments. Each canvas results from a unique process. The trajectory of projections, the distribution of matter and the interactions between colors can never be reproduced identically. Slight creases may appear on receipt. This is perfectly normal for a canvas shipped rolled. These marks naturally disappear when it is put under tension. For optimal results, it is recommended to have the canvas mounted on a frame by a local framer.
