Descriptio Wood and iron. Dimensions: 95 x 134 x 370 cm. Battering ram mounted on a two-wheeled frame, consisting of a large carved log with a ram’s head at one end and reinforced wooden discs on either side. It was designed for breaching doors or entrances in assault or demonstration contexts. The piece has a robust and primal design, where the symbolic power of the zoomorphic head is combined with the solid materiality of the central beam, suspended or positioned for movement and use via a simple wheeled system. The solid wheels, the iron fittings, and the deliberate roughness of the carving underscore its function as an impact weapon, where mechanical efficiency takes precedence over any ornamental embellishment. It stands out for its visual impact, the typological rarity of the whole, and its historical interest as an object linked to traditional ramming techniques.
