Delivered with Certificate of Authenticity (COA). Description: «The Condemnation of the Lovers» offers a powerful contemporary rereading of the classical myth of Romeo and Juliet. Departing from the romantic portrait and the period archetypes, the artist rafaelborja.art translates the tragedy into a realm that is purely visceral and psychological. Inspired by the chiaroscuro and dramatic lighting of Caravaggio's tenebrism, the scene omits architectural or historical context to focus all narrative weight on the tension between the two faces depicted at life size. The impossibility of love is not narrated with words, but with the contained violence of anonymous hands that imprison, force, and hold the lovers' heads, embodying judgment, family mandate, and the weight of the social environment. Executed with a refined acrylic technique that achieves smooth tonal transitions and high anatomical realism, the painting has been protected and unified with a final coat of high-quality matte varnish, guaranteeing a velvety black background, free of reflections and with a pronounced three-dimensional presence. A key piece within the artist's evolution, ideal for collectors of contemporary figurative art and neobaroque aesthetics.
