Antique R & W ALPACCA mesh purse – fine metal chainwork – ca. 1900–1925 Elegant antique purse, made with fine metal chainwork and featuring a beautifully decorated and engraved clasp. The purse has a characteristic classic clasp with two bulb-shaped elements and a long metal carrying chain. The very fine chainwork forms a particularly decorative pattern and gives the piece a refined appearance. A beautiful example of an early 20th-century ladies’ accessory, from the period around late Art Nouveau and Edwardian fashion, when such small metal evening purses and money pouches were popular.
