Queen’s Own Glasgow Yeomanry Officer’s Helmet. A good Victorian Albert pattern example, circa 1847-1871 with a silvered skull with a gilt floral wreath of Scottish thistles, a large standard pattern ornate gilt frontal plate with a Victorian crown surmounting a rococo shield bearing a silver or white metal star beraing a brass central device of Garter strap with the motto ‘Nemo Me Impune Lacessit’, centred a gilt brass lion rampant, with its black horse hair plume and a leather lined chin chain with large rosettes, the interior with its original cloth and leather liner and a partial named paper label liner, some wear, overall good service worn condition £800-£1,000.
