Toi et moi, you and I - this idea is illustrated by the rings of the early 20th century, which set two gemstones side by side on an equal footing. The two partners were recognized in the two jewels: as two individuals, yet united in commonality. In this ring, a sapphire and diamond have been combined to create an exciting composition. The dark blue gemstone appears as a round cabochon, while the sparkling white diamond is shaped in the historic old cut. Isolated inclusions inside the diamond do not dampen its fire, but testify to its formation millions of years ago in nature. After all, who is flawless? Ten smaller rose-cut diamonds and millegrain ornate line decorations structure the rectangular ring face. It looks as if lines of force emanate from the two protagonists of the design, like the light from a double star. The ring face with the gemstones is made of platinum, so the ring shines in a cool, elegant white, just as the fashion of the 1920s demanded. The base of the ring and the ring band, however, are made of yellow gold. The ring, which was most likely made in Germany in the 1920s, is in very good condition. We discovered it near Wiesbaden.
