Rare Renaissance-era ceramic tile. Ceramic tile adorned with a bourgeois scene in a floral setting. A richly dressed young woman leaning on a coat of arms depicting an eagle with outstretched wings. On the coat of arms, a basket of fruit. Germany, Renaissance period, circa the 16th/17th century Orange-red ceramic - glaze traces on the lower part - Dimensions 9.5 cm x 9.5 cm x 1.5 cm - Excellent preservation - no restoration. Provenance: Germany, Galerie V.Z.N Previously: Important private collection of antique tiles acquired in the 1970s The seller can prove that the lot was obtained legally; provenance statement seen by Catawiki.
