Rare Renaissance tile with rich relief decoration. Thick ceramic tile with relief decoration depicting two opposite lions, each in a medallion, standing on their hind legs, the tail shaped like an S. The tile is dated 1602 in the design. High Renaissance period, Netherlands - first quarter of the 17th century. Dimensions: length 15.2 cm - width 9.5 cm - thickness 5.4 cm. Excellent condition - small chips. This model of relief lions tile is almost impossible to find. Provenance: Netherlands, Galerie D.Z.N.
