Pietro Monteleone - Starry Beach (Large size 160 x 80 cm)

Hand-painted. Original hand-painted work: mixed media with tactile relief. The story of the work Starry Beach arises from the idea of capturing a moment that belongs more to memory than to real time: the moment, in front of the sea, when the boundary between sky and water seems to vanish. Pietro Montaleone builds this vision through a progressive transformation of light. The upper part of the canvas is dominated by a deep, almost nocturnal blue, studded with innumerable points of light. They are stars, but also fragments of matter, traces of light that appear to fall onto the surface of the canvas. Descending toward the lower part, the sky slowly opens. The blue gives way to lighter, warmer tones, until reaching the beach, where ocher, copper, beige and white take over. It is precisely in this transition that the work reveals its most intimate nature. The waves are not simply painted: they are built through matter. The layers of color, the irregularities and the reliefs of the surface physically convey the movement of the water. The white foam seems to advance on the shore and pause only for an instant before being dragged again by the sea. The painting can thus be read as a journey from night to light, from the depth of the sky to the concreteness of the earth. The idea behind Starry Beach The title encapsulates the heart of the work: a beach observed under a starry sky, but reinterpreted through Montaleone’s tactile sensibility. It is a beach of memory. An imaginary place in which every observer can recognize something personal: a night spent by the sea, the sound of the waves, a sense of freedom, a journey or simply that moment of silence felt while looking at the horizon. It is this ambiguity that makes the work particularly interesting for collectors: Starry Beach can be read as a landscape, but also as an abstract composition and a sensory experience. Pietro Montaleone Pietro Montaleone’s artistic research develops around the relationship between light, matter, nature and emotion. His painting uses matter not only as an aesthetic element, but as an integral part of the narration. The surfaces become places to explore: from afar the work yields a strong overall image; up close, stratifications, reliefs and details emerge that tell the creative process. His international vocation and the presence of his works in private collections in several countries confer to his production a dimension particularly interesting for the collectors’ market. In Starry Beach, this research reaches a particularly effective synthesis: the sky represents the infinite, the sea the movement, and the beach the human and earthly dimension. Why Starry Beach is a collectible artwork Starry Beach possesses a characteristic particularly sought after in the contemporary market: it is an artwork that communicates immediately, yet reveals new details upon close inspection. The palette, dominated by deep blue and sandy tones, also allows the painting to sit naturally both in contemporary interiors and in more classical spaces. The strong verticality of the composition accentuates its architectural presence, transforming the canvas into an element capable of defining a space. An artwork to look at, but above all to live. Starry Beach does not merely tell of the sea. It tells of that irreproducible feeling of standing before the horizon, when the sky fills with stars and the sound of the waves seems to slow time. “A beach that does not belong to a specific place, but to the memory of the one who looks at it.” Pietro Montaleone, Starry Beach. An intense poetic vision of the marine landscape, built through a rich material exploration. The deep blue of the sky, dotted with points of light, gradually dissolves into the light of the coast, where color and matter stratifications give shape to the movement of the waves. A work that unites landscape and abstraction, transforming the beach into a place suspended between memory, light and infinity. The artist’s international vocation and the presence of his works in private collections contribute to the growing collecting interest around his research. Dimensions: 160 x 80 cm Handmade. Features: textured. The work is signed and dated by the artist on the back. It will be shipped securely packaged. Protected by secure packaging. Shipping within 1-5 business days.
