The composition is dominated by a house surrounded by abundant vegetation, several trees with stylized foliage, and cypress trees that structure the landscape. The background is treated in bright tones of ochre, yellow and orange, suggesting a warm late-day atmosphere. One of the most remarkable features of this work is its extremely substantial handling of matter. The trees, the ground, and certain parts of the composition are built up with thick impastos and very pronounced reliefs, giving the surface a nearly sculptural appearance. The palette notably blends yellows, ochres, oranges, browns, greens and reds, with strong contrasts between the bright sky and the dark vegetation. The signature “Mocaer” is visible in the lower left portion of the composition. Condition Overall condition in line with the photographs. The work shows very thick matter and strong relief, characteristic of this painting. Cracking and surface variations are visible in certain areas and are part of the current appearance of the piece.
