PEYO - Johan and Pirlouit - The Tournament. - Lot 122

PEYO - Johan and Pirlouit - The Tournament. Print on canvas stretched over a wooden frame. This canvas depicts a dynamic panel from the world of Johan and Pirlouit, the medieval fantasy series created by Peyo before the Smurfs appeared. The image depicts a moment of bravery (or clumsiness) typical of the series: a knightly tournament where the action is emphasized by an onomatopoeia (“WOUIIIIIT”) and the characters’ iconic expressions in speech bubbles.
