Beautiful and rare antique silver brooch with mother-of-pearl and lapis lazuli from the renowned German design studio Perli Werkstätte, founded around 1922–1923 by the artist and designer Martha May in Schwäbisch Gmünd. Perli was worldwide known in the 1920s and 1930s for their high-quality, hand-forged jewelry. In 1937 the firm won the silver medal at the World’s Fair in Paris. This particular handmade brooch from the 1930s forms a splendid bridge between the late Arts & Crafts movement and early German Modernism. Equipped with the silver hallmark “835” and master mark PE. Length of the brooch is 4.5 cm. Weight is 10.10 grams. After decades of careful collecting I have decided to part with (a portion of) my collection. I wish these special objects a place with a new enthusiast who understands the value of historic preservation. It is time these pieces receive the attention they deserve, so they are preserved for the distant future as well. I ensure extremely careful packaging and insured shipping.
