Pendant watch: important enamelled watch ‘Huaud fecit’, ca. 1685

Ca. Ø36mm, high-carat gold, fully enamelled, reverse depicting Herod, Herodias and Salome; inside, a castle with a knight; on the side, the usual four cartouches with views of the castle, which form a connection to the inner painting; signed verge movement; enamelled dial; gold hands; in unrestored original condition; fine firing cracks in the enamel; case signed ‘Huaud Le Puisné fecit’; movement intact. Many of the surviving Huaud cases from around 1685 were fitted with movements from the early and mid-18th century, as is the case with this clock.
