Pelikan 140 Vintage 1950s – 14 Karat / 585 Solid Gold DF Nib (Through-Copy Nib) – Rare Rarity No personal engraving available. ⸻ A true classic of German writing instrument culture: the Pelikan 140 in the characteristic green-striped finish, produced in the 1950s/1960s. A special feature variant is the original 14 karat / 585 gold nib in nib width DF (Durchschreibefeder Fein / through-copy fine nib). This comparatively stiff specialty nib was designed for a precise writing style and for writing duplicates, and today it’s an interesting variant for Pelikan collectors. The fountain pen features the classic Pelikan piston filling mechanism, a green striped body, a black cap, and gilded fittings. Features Manufacturer: Pelikan Model: 140 Time period: c. 1954–1965 Origin: Made in Germany Filling system: Piston filler Finish: Green striped / Black Decorative parts: Gilded Nib: Original Pelikan gold nib Gold content: 14 karat / 585 Nib width: DF – Durchschreibefeder Fein Length (closed): ca. 12.3 cm Engraving: No personal engraving Special feature The DF nib is the distinctive feature of this specimen. It was designed as a fixed through-copy nib and differs clearly from the more flexible Pelikan nibs of this era. Conclusion A classic Pelikan 140 green-striped with a particularly interesting 14C/585 DF gold nib – an attractive combination for collectors of historical Pelikan writing instruments. ⸻ Condition * All items come from a collection liquidation * Cartridges or ink cartridges may need replacement * Minor signs of storage possible Very well-preserved condition.
