Pasquale D'Angelo (Nola, April 3, 1896 – Naples, 1955) was an important Italian painter and sculptor of the first half of the 20th century, a prominent exponent of the Campanian art scene. Biography and Artistic Path Origins and relocation: Born in Nola on Anfiteatro Laterizio Street, he moved to Naples in his youth, settling on the Arenella hill. Training: A predominantly self-taught artist, he developed a deep predisposition for both painting and sculpture. He chose as his ideal teachers and sources of inspiration great names of the Neapolitan artistic tradition, first and foremost Antonio Mancini. The Neapolitan environment: He lived and worked in close contact (and often in heated artistic clashes) with the best-known Neapolitan painters of his time, including Carlo Striccioli, Vincenzo Verdecchia, Giovanni Tizzano, Alberto Chiancone and Gennaro Torraca. Main Exhibitions The debut (1920): He made his mark in exhibitions by participating in the Naples Fine Arts Exhibition with three works: Marietta, La preghiera and Studio di testa. The continuity in Naples: From that moment on he exhibited regularly in the main Naples art shows and reviews until 1941. The Quadriennale di Roma (1952): He sealed his artistic maturity by participating in the VI edition of the prestigious Mostra Quadriennale d'Arte Nazionale in Rome. Ingombro con cornice 42x50cm cca
