Historical Background: The Panasonic NV-MS95 was featured in photographic publications by late 1991, placing the model within the generation of advanced analogue camcorders available around the 1992 Olympic Games. S-VHS-C brought improved picture detail to the compact videocassette format. Together with stereo sound, a versatile zoom lens and editing facilities, it gave home-video enthusiasts tools for producing more ambitious recordings. Panasonic became an official Worldwide Olympic Partner in 1987. The 1992 Olympic sponsor branding reflects that corporate partnership and provides an interesting connection to the sporting and consumer-electronics history of the period. It does not, on its own, establish a limited edition or use of this camera at the Games. Condition & Included Accessories: This Panasonic NV-MS95E is presented as a genuine vintage S-VHS-C movie camera from the early 1990s. It has a neat, well-kept overall appearance. As expected for equipment of this age, there may be small marks, scratches, age-related discolouration and cosmetic wear consistent with normal use over the years. Please examine the photographs carefully to assess the camera’s physical condition, including the body, lens, viewfinder, controls, cassette compartment and any accessories shown. The photographs form an integral part of the description, and everything pictured is included. The camera has not been tested, so recording, playback and other functions cannot be confirmed. Any included rechargeable battery is also untested, and its ability to hold a charge is unknown. As with vintage tape-based equipment, servicing may be required before reliable use. Collector Interest With its analogue recording system, extensive physical controls and Olympic sponsor branding, the NV-MS95E offers an appealing combination of video technology and period history. An interesting addition to a collection of vintage Panasonic equipment, analogue movie cameras or Olympic-related memorabilia.
