Owego, New York. Bank of Owego. 1862 $1. Very Good. No. Faded. Plate D. Offered here is a well-circulated $1 Obsolete issued by the Bank of Owego during the 1860s. One may notice a portrait of DeWitt Clinton at left that was later used for $1000 Legal Tender Notes while the signature of President Lyman Truman can be seen at right. A missing corner and margin issues are among the faults that may be observed. This institution ultimately became the First National Bank of Owego (Charter# 1019) in 1865. Estimate: $100 - $200. Provenance: From the Caine Collection.
