OTTOMAN SILVER RING WITH CALLIGRAPHIC INSCRIPTION

Ca. AD 1700 - 1900 A silver ring with a broad, flat-section hoop expanding into a rectangular bezel with rounded projections along its edges. The central panel is engraved with an Arabic inscription arranged in horizontal registers within a rectangular frame. The shoulders are engraved with a pair of semicircles, separated from the lozenge motifs along the hoop by prominent transverse ribs.
