AD 1500 A gold ring with a broad, flat-section hoop expanding into a rectangular bezel set with an inscribed red stone secured by a gold collet with corner claws, bordered by twisted wire and granulated ornament. The shoulders are embellished with applied filigree scrolls and floral motifs, framed by engraved foliate decoration extending around the hoop.
