The other photos are taken without glass and show the work in its reality. Oreste Costa was born in Florence, Grand Duchy of Tuscany, and trained under Antonio Ciseri. Among his works was Gli ultimi Sforzi (The Last Efforts). His brother Antonio was also a painter. He often exhibited in England and one of his paintings, a genre scene with elderly peasants drinking, is in the Hillwood Museum. Excellent market values.
