ORA VIENNE - Mixed media: pigment ink print, hand-applied brush-on varnish for durable protection of the artwork. A woman stands with her back to us against a gold background, head in profile to the right, eyes closed, black hair pulled up in a bun studded with small gold flowers. One arm rises above her head on the left; the other extends toward the right edge, fist clenched on the fabric. Both hands hold a violet veil that opens in an arch above her. The back is bare down to the hips, the neck encircled by a wide gold necklace. At the bottom, the dress spans the entire width. On the left, bands of small black, violet, and silver rectangles descend onto the gold. The gesture is captured at the moment when the veil is most open and has not yet fallen back. Nothing surrounds the figure: neither ground nor decor, only the gold that rises to the edges. The painting does not tell a scene; it rests on the adornment and on this restrained movement. Gold fills the entire surface, deep violet takes hold of the veil and dress, the flesh tones remain in cold white, and the blacks, like rare silver, are the only deviations. The gilding is not smooth: scaled, cracked, worn by broad beige plaques like an old wall, with spirals repeated in relief. The dress is the area most materially rich, studded with discs and golden impasto that catch the light; the veil, churned with broad strokes, bears the same gold scatter. Mixed media: pigment ink print, hand-applied varnish for the durable protection of the artwork. Varnish applied by hand, for the depth of the golds and the durable protection of the work. Support: premium canvas stretched on wooden frame, ready to hang. Format: 40 × 60 cm. Signed ORA VIENNE · Galerie Labo Joconde / Atelier Joconde · certificate of authenticity provided. ORA VIENNE is one of the creations bringing together artists Le Yack, Neo Pablo, and Popsan within Atelier Joconde, a family studio where three sensibilities coexist: neo-realism, pop, and free figuration. The name hints at Vienna time: that of the Vienna Secession and Klimt’s golden era, whose signature reuses the continuous gold background, spirals, checkered rows of small rectangles arranged in a band, and the female face detached on the metallic sheet. Under this name, the Studio paints only a single figure at a time, alone in the gold, caught in a suspended gesture — hand on the strings, veil held at arm’s length — dressed in a dress whose ornament ends up consuming the fabric. Each canvas rests on an agreement of only two colors: gold everywhere, a single color that answers it, peacock green-blue or deep violet, and the flesh tone left in cold white. The gilding is never smooth: scales, cracks, bright chips and wear treat it like an old wall, and the spirals are echoed in relief. Each work is a unique piece. Instagram @atelierjoconde.
