Welcome to my Top Swiss Wrist Watches Boutique! Omega SA is a Swiss luxury watchmaker based in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. Founded by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds in 1903, the company formerly operated as La Generale Watch Co. until incorporating the name Omega in 1903, becoming Louis Brandt et Frère-Omega Watch & Co. In 1984, the company officially changed its name to Omega SA and opened its museum in Biel/Bienne to the public. Britain's Royal Flying Corps used Omega watches in 1917 for its combat units, followed by the U.S. Army in 1918, and NASA in 1969 for Apollo 11. Omega has been the official timekeeper of the Olympics since 1932 and is the current timekeeper of the America's Cup yacht race. Omega was a main partner of the 2022 Winter Olympics. Omega experienced a resurgence with advertisements that focused on product placement strategies, such as in the James Bond 007 films; the character had previously worn a Rolex Submariner but switched to the Omega Seamaster Diver 300M with GoldenEye (1995), and later an Omega Planet Ocean and Aqua Terra. At the heart of this timepiece is the Co-Axial escapement, a revolution in watchmaking when first introduced. The reduced stress on the moving parts means less need for lubrication, longer-lasting accuracy and a more stable power reserve rate. In short, this timepiece performs better for longer. The especially dramatic and enduring design concept of the OMEGA Constellation line is characterized by its famous “griffes”, or claws, and striking dials. Notable Omega wearers: - Joe Biden, 46th President of the United States of America - Wally Schirra, one of the first Americans in space; also the first astronaut to wear a Speedmaster on a space mission in 1962 - Neil Armstrong, first man on the Moon as an Apollo 11 astronaut - Buzz Aldrin, second man on the Moon as an Apollo 11 astronaut - Daniel Craig, actor - George Clooney, actor - Tom Hanks, actor; famously wore a Speedmaster Professional while portraying Jim Lovell in Apollo 13 - Richard Hammond, presenter from Top Gear and The Grand Tour - Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands - Mark Knopfler, musician - Jeff Bezos, Founder of Amazon and many many others. Now there is a chance for you to join this great company of outstanding people. The offered Constellation sits in Omega’s dress-sport category: more formal than a Seamaster, less traditional than a De Ville, and very much defined by the Constellation “claws” and integrated bracelet design. Movement: - self-winding calibre Omega 2500 - base: ETA 2892-A2, the famous "workhorse" - Co-Axial escapement - certified C.O.S.C. Chronometer - 48 hours power-reserve - 27 jewels - frequency: 25.200 A/h Case: - 316L stainless steel - polished/fine brushed - 38mm excl. crown, 41,7mm incl. - 10,9mm thick - length lug to lug: 42,9mm - unique watch number 85 (for buyer only), best proof of authenticity Crown: - 316L stainless steel - polished - pull/push - Omega convex logo Domed scratch‑resistant sapphire crystal with anti‑reflective treatment on both sides Case-back: - transparent, sapphire Dial: - black matte - date aperture at 03:00 o'clock - polished luminous hands and hour markers - polished to a mirror finish: hour batons, Omega logo at 12:00 o'clock and Omega star at 06:00 o'clock - minute markers around the outer rim Bezel: - 316L stainless steel - fine brushed with polished "claws" - Roman numerals engraved - fixed Bracelet: - 316L stainless steel - original Omega Constellation - fine brushed/polished - length: ca. 19cm, incl. wristwatch itself - width: 25mm by lugs, 18mm by clasp Clasp: - original Omega with golden logo - 316L stainless steel - double folding "butterfly" - two security pushers - fine brushed outside, polished inside Weight: 157 grams Water-resistance: 10ATM/100meters/365feet Extremely high recognition value. Distinctive Constellation design. Full set (see pics). Distributor's stock: the card isn't stamped. Excellent condition, never worn: the wristwatch comes from luxury watch-shop showcase; the length of the bracelet was adjusted to the size of the display stand. For watches older than two years, “original warranty” in my description means that the warranty card is included. My personal authenticity and quality warranty: you will get warranty card (as pictured), fully completed, stamped and signed. My impeccable seller reputation speaks for itself: look at my feedbacks and sales ratings. Insured, registered shipping worldwide with Intl. Express service: it’s not cheap, and yet fast and reliable, two days in Europe, three days worldwide. What you see is what you get. These are my own photos of the actual watch up for auction. NO EXTRA COSTS for EU Buyers! Design: The Double Eagle differs substantially from the traditional Constellation: - larger, sportier case - integrated bracelet - exhibition caseback - wider Roman numeral bezel - stronger wrist presence - luminous hands and hour markers Although officially 38 mm, it wears closer to a modern 39–40 mm because of the integrated bracelet and broad bezel. Wearing comfort: the bracelet is exceptionally comfortable due to: - short articulated links - butterfly clasp - balanced weight distribution It sits very flat on the wrist and is suitable for daily wear. Collectability: The Double Eagle was overshadowed by the Seamaster and Speedmaster during its production, but enthusiasts increasingly appreciate it for several reasons: - one of the earliest Omega Co-Axial chronometers, - excellent build quality, - integrated sports-watch design, - sapphire display back, - robust and reliable movement, - relatively affordable compared with comparable luxury sports watches. Many Omega enthusiasts consider the Double Eagle one of the brand's best values on the pre-owned market, especially for buyers seeking a distinctive alternative to the ubiquitous Seamaster Professional.
