A piece of jewellery with a beautiful large diamond has always been a small investment that needs to be carefully considered. How practical it is when you don't have to choose between a decorative brooch and a fine ring - but have the option of having both and being able to wear them on different occasions! The ladies of the 19th century loved pieces that could adapt to rapidly changing fashions and were therefore ideally convertible. This brooch from around 1890 is just such a jewel. It is made of rose gold and holds a large diamond weighing 1.774 ct in its centre in a prong setting, mounted on a so-called knife-edge bar that turns the piece of jewellery into a small bar brooch. The diamond and its setting can be unscrewed from the brooch and inserted into another piece of jewellery. So our goldsmiths set to work and created a ring to match the brooch! You can decide where you want to sparkle – with a brooch on your scarf or lapel, or a magnificent solitaire on your finger! This piece is delivered with an appraisal from Vienna.
