A face appears in an almost absolute silence. In “The Fragile Shine — Porcelain Tears,” the female figure seems to have been shaped in white porcelain covered with delicate cobalt blue motifs. Flowers, foliage and ornaments run across her skin like the décor of an old room that has suddenly come to life. The eyes are closed. A translucent tear slowly glides down the cheek. This detail becomes the emotional center of the composition. Porcelain usually evokes something precious, refined, but also vulnerable: a material that can traverse generations and yet shatter in an instant. Here, this fragility becomes human.
